Can I get a private post please.

I’m 10 weeks pregnant with my 7th baby. I’ve had 3 children and 3 miscarriages. My first miscarriage was a missed miscarriage at 12+4. I found out that my baby had died 3 weeks before.
Besides booking private scans every single day which costs a lot of money, I bought a fetal Doppler. I tried it this morning and I couldn’t find the baby. I don’t know if I was looking in the wrong place. I am so scared that I’ve lost my baby again. I have my 12 weeks scan in 2 weeks but I’m not sure I can wait that long. I’m so scared!

  • A fetal doppler shouldn’t be used before 16 weeks as baby is too small to pick up heartbeat. Even after then it should only be used by a professional. An untrained person could be picking up the placenta. Their own heartbeat. And just because there’s a heartbeat it doesn’t mean all is OK. So please, don’t use the doppler. And if you’re going to anyway, not until 16 weeks.

  • I was the same as you with miscarriages but I only had 1 child. I bought a home Doppler and would panic every time and I couldn’t find my babies and didn’t till 14 weeks. Please try not to stress out because every pregnancy is different.. I hope everything works out for you. Will you not be scanned earlier because of history or have you have a child in between miscarriages xx

  • They’re not supposed to be used this early because baby is still really small. They’re trying to ban them for home use altogether because they just cause stress when a heartbeat can’t be found because baby is too small or you’re looking in the wrong place.

  • Im not sure they work that early. Midwives only start listening past 16 weeks. I wouldnt worry i wouldnt personally use them as they cause unneccasary stress xxx
