Can I have a post please?

How do people deal with night terrors? 🤔Is there anyway to prevent them? 🤔My 3 year old has been getting them for the past few months, but the past week or so they seem to have got worse. Like 6/7 times a night. There is literally no consoling him. He doesn’t even seem to know we are there. I just talk to him until it seems to pass (usually 2/3 mins) but last night went on for nearly 10mins. Kicking screaming. Can anyone help? I feel so sorry for him. We have a good bedtime routine every night. I don’t know why they have got so bad 😩😩😩

  • My 6 year old has this problem I now send her to bed at the same time every night and usually if they empty their bladder then it keeps it down a bit

  • Not sure how to prevent but my daughter had them from age of 1 and past week she hasn’t had any, she is 5 now. They eventually grow out of them but it’s so hard for us mum’s x

  • My son was the same, he started at about 20months, he’s now 11 and still had the occasional one. But when he was younger we tried all sorts, the only thing we could do was console him and put him back to bed. We finally worked out, it was scooby doo causing the night terrors, once we stopped him watching it they stopped! He had them now and again but if i get him up to go to the toilet he goes straight back to sleep no problem after emptying his bladder

  • Apparently your supposed to keep them awake for a bit afterwards to break the cycle of falling back into it x

  • If you notice that they happen at a similar time, try going in 5 minutes before and gently waking him up. Starting a new sleep cycle can stop a terror from occuring
