Can I have a post please? Since late last week my 2 year old has been unwell, it seemed like a virus with high temp a bit upset etc. Anyway, over the weekend she developed a cold sore, the next day her gums had dark patches and were sore. I took her to the doctors who said it was gum disease but I was skeptical because I’ve always made sure she has a good oral hygiene routine. The doctor wouldn’t do anything and said she needed a dentist, however she is still on a long waiting list at my dentist and I couldn’t get her an emergency appointment so I took her to the walk in centre for second opinion. They said it was a viral rash in her mouth, said it wasn’t gum disease because it literally developed overnight where as anything else would be gradual. She’s over the temperatures now and seems well but this in her mouth is still there, she banged her mouth earlier on and it bled a lot even though it was a small bump which usually wouldn’t cause any damage. I’m planning on going back to the doctors tomorrow but does anyone have any idea what this may be? It’s worrying me quite a bit now
