Can I have a ppp my 3 year old has autism and has a bad case of hand foot and mouth he is covered, we were at the Drs yesterday and they haven’t done a lot to help. Anyways he has been screaming a lot the past 2 days obviously he’s in a lot of pain and itching he’s up for hours in the night crying and itching. Today I was giving him a quick bath because he had calomine lotion earlier, he cried for quite a while and I had ordered him a new winter duvet this morning from Argos and we somehow missed the door when they came and they delivered it next door. She came quickly after he stopped crying and I said hiya and she said hi and passed me my parcel and walked away when I said thank you, she didn’t even smile. I’m starting to worry that they are getting annoyed that he’s screaming so much and that they might think he’s being hurt or something. He gets really extreme when he gets upset he seems like he can’t control himself once he gets going. It’s hard but I’m starting to get paranoid about it now. They never really acknowledge us to start with. I think I’ve had a convo once, and spoke to my partner a few times we are usually fairly quiet except for my sons meltdowns which can vary but when he’s poorly like I said it’s extreme crying and screaming.

Also does anyone know anything else that helps hand foot and mouth he’s covered head to toe it’s so bad, I’ve got calomine cream, calpol and piriton, and a throat numbing scream for the ones on his throat. The chemist said the dr should have given us a cream but she didn’t give him anything. He’s been screaming on and off for 2 days scratching his poor little hands, feet and bum, his mouth and nose are covered in scabby spots he looks awful and I can tell he feels it too 😞Thanks.

  • Sorry I can’t help but just wanted to know I feel your pain. My youngest had it a few months ago, the gp said there was nothing he could do, my son luckily didn’t have many on his skin but his mouth was covered. He barely ate for 5 days because it was too painful we had tantrums because he was hungry which resulted in screaming because it just, which lead to more screaming because he wanted it. I felt so sorry for him, he basically lived on ice lollys because it’s the only thing that helped him. Luckily my neighbours are lovely and completely understood! I hope I never have to go through it again x
