could i have some advice regarding peoples experience of council homeless housing waiting times please? i have a 18m old daughter and am currently expecting baby no.2 in march. my partner and i split in august 2017, so i moved in with my parents. then mid december my dad kicked myself and my daughter out in the middle of the night. i phoned the council and I’ve made a homeless application, which they will make a decision on by the 16th january. The housing officer said she’s most certain that I will be accepted as homeless and given priority for housing. .. so my question is..does anyone have personal experince of this and can advise on how soon after being accepted as homeless, you were offered a home? I’m currently living at my aunts but she has 6 kids of her own so doesn’t have the room to spare much longer. thank you xx
