I was wondering if you would ask a question for me

My little one is 5 weeks old, the doctors said they think he is lactose intolerant and to put him on lactose free milk which we have done for nearly 2 weeks, it’s making him incredibly extremely constipated, he’s doubled up in pain and goes bright red, if/ when he poops it’s hard pellets or like play dough.

Has anyone tried the co lactose drops that you add to normal formula instead of lactose free milk?
His toilet patterns were normal on regular formula so I wasn’t sure if that would help?
