Hi can I have a private post please.

Im Currently in council supplied temporary accommodation in a hostel with my 2 year old daughter and weve been here for just over 5 months and the housing management of the property has stated that were not allowed to decorate our own individual rooms for Christmas
Now I would understand if it was a fire hazard, but they have said it’s because it may offend the Muslims in the hostel.

1 it’s my room I’m allowed to have what I like inside it it’s not in my licence agreement that I cannot put up decorations.
2 I think this is religious discrimination, it’s part of my religion to celebrate Christmas and I want to celebrate it with my daughter. We’re in a bad place already I’m not stripping Christmas for my daughter just because the hostel are being discrimination.
To me it’s like asking a Muslim not to wear a burka/hijab!

It offends me that I’m not allowed to celebrate my own religion in my own space which I pay for.

Anyone else think it’s absolutely outrageous?

This is not racist in any way I was just using it as an example
