Hi could I have a private post please,
My wee girl is due to start nursery at the end of the year and I’m won’t to send her to a pacific nursery and school (for many reasons like a stay in a bad area so don’t won’t her going to school here) but I dont stay any where near it so she probably wonted get a place, but my mum stay right next to it. I was thinking about just using my mums address so she will get a place in the nursery and school.
Just looking to see if any of you mums have done anything like this before ?

Thanks

  • I applied to out of catchment nursery and got in because the numbers were low (applied due to childcare near that school) . However, when applying to the infants of the same school I couldn’t get my little girl in. It was so upsetting – change of school to local catchment and change of childminder – just something to think about xx

  • They can check what address your child is registered at through child tax and benefit so not the best idea. I was the same as you I applied for 3 schools, none in my catchment area we got are third option which was the closest to me out of the 3 if the school is undersubscribed you will get a place x

  • They usually ask for proof of address so would need something like a council tax bill or tenancy contract with your name on it x

  • Im not sure how it works where u stay but I put a placing request in as we moved to a diff village which had 3 schools near us and I got my placing request xx

  • You could just apply for it and when asked the reason why you could put down that if there is an emergency it is close to your mum to pick up in needed to

  • They even do home visits now because people were using a family members addresses to get into certain schools x
