Hi Hun, can I have a pp please ?

I’m just looking for some mums advice on what’s the best way to handle this sensitive subject with my daughter.

My little one is 4 and recently has been getting very upset, saying she doesn’t want me to get old because then she will be all alone cause I won’t be here anymore. I’ve got no idea where this has came from – but she gets really upset, lots of tears etc & has started to do this with her gran as well. We both have no idea on how to best handle the situation, I just tell her that it’s a long time away and when I’m old il come and live with her – this seems to calm her down for a little bit but it’s breaking my heart seeing her get into such a state and I feel like I’m failing her by not coming up with some great answer or way to explain things (age appropriately) to console her. None of my friends have been through this with their little ones so can’t get advice from them.
Also may I add that – my mum passed away when I was young & my little one has asked where my mummy is.. I’ve explained to her that my mum is up in the sky with the stars & she’s around all the time but we just can’t see her. – I’ve never been upset or spoken to her in depth about death etc because I felt she was too young to understand & it could be scary for a child so I’m not sure if this has came from that, there has also been no deaths in either side of her family that she would have been around or heard conversations about.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated 💕😞
