Hi ppp. If you were in this position, what would you do?
Okay, so I am a full time 24/7 carer to Nephew since 2011. Bd of child is related to and deceased few yrs nw. And child was removed from BM care due to emotional neglect. During conferences she was ordered to build a relationship bond with X five yrs at the time, this didn’t happen as she failed to visit. And would cancel sometimes at last minute. Or just not show up text or call.
It’s been 5 half months now since X was with BM. But the longest gap is of 9 months. on n off dropping in and out of his life, making empty promises to the child. I do have legal guardianship. BM Didn’t acknowledge his Birthday this year, not even a happy Birthday wish. BM does not pay maintenance or has ever purchase anything for this child. (I’m not worried about the financial side of it as I’m fully able to provide for him.)
He is SN’s too. So he has alot more daily needs, than an average child. I pay for private therapies for him, as public is lacking services SW don’t seem to do anything, but re-arrange visits with the child, because she feels guilty and won’t make contact herself. She is supposed to be recovered alcohol/prescription drug user, but, I’m not so sure she is. why else would she come up with insane excuses to not come see her child. Or not show up for months. All advice welcome. Thanks.

With the guardianship as you stayed you have full parental rights to the child. Maybe speak to him ask him if he wants to continue to see her he’s at an age where he can decide.
