Hiya, could i have a post please.

I’m just looking for advice regarding dinner money!!!

Last year my partner lost his job, he had to sign on until he found another job.
We seriously struggled in that time so our eldest son was dinners at school instead of his usual sandwiches.

He was entitled to free school meals as i had to leave my job last october, then my partner lost his job start of december.

Now, the problem is, the school are STILL chasing me and saying i owe money for the dinners!!!
I’ve refused to pay it and any other dinners he’s had, i’ve paid for since my partner started working again at the start of february.

Where do i stand? I’ve already told them i’m not paying it as he was entitled to free meals!
They just aren’t giving up and it’s been 12 months.

I’ve shown them documents of dismissal from his job and also showed them his JSA paperwork and gave them our NI numbers so they can check it theirself, but they refuse all that info and just keep saying i need to pay.

It’s starting to get on my nerves with them constantly pestering for money that we don’t even owe!!!
