I’ve had an IUD inserted (copper coil) for around 4 and a half years now, it was fine all the time, all I ever had was serious cramps and heavy periods

So about 2 weeks ago I went for a wee (tmi I’m sorry) I always look just incase after I had an abnormal smear and was told to check for any bleeding between periods and when I looked there was a T-shaped thing in the toilet,
At the time I thought the kids have chucked it down and I flushed it away,
Later that day I thought hang on my coil is T-shaped , so I checked and couldn’t feel the strings, so I had my o.h check and he couldn’t feel them either,

Has anyone had experience with this? What should I do?

I know if it’s loose there’s chance if pregnancy and obvs if it falls out there’s risks too but what are the chances?

I’m not due a period for another week but I’m irregular due to the coil and having kids anyway

Hellpp!

  • Hi again,

Could you possibly comment for me?

I’ve been to my gp and they won’t do an examination until after a period, they told me if I’m late they will examine me, I went to my walk in clinic and they said the same

  • Well if it’s been loose and now fallen out and you’ve had sex recently then you might be pregnant. You need to now have protected sex until you find out if your pregnant or not

  • Ur best bet is to see ur GP to check if anything is stil there.

    Take a test also.
