Owlet Socks A Total Life Saver

Those of you who have heard of the Owlet Sock and wonder if it works and is worth the money, here is our story:

Ever since I first heard about the Owlet Sock a few years ago, I knew I wanted one when I had a child. Decklan was born full term (40 weeks + 5 days) without any issues, in Oklahoma.

We started using the Owlet as soon as he was discharged home from the hospital and we didn’t experience any red alarms

Sunday we drove to Denver, CO and our first night we experienced 3 red alarms (meaning his oxygen level dropped below 80%). The following day his oxygen was in the mid 80’s and low 90’s (newborns should be 95-100%). This made me uncomfortable, so I called the pediatrician and they sent us to urgent care and from there we were admitted to the NICU at Children’s Hospital in Denver.

He was discharged home on oxygen and will be on it 24/7 for the next 5 weeks, until he’s 2 months old, minimum. He will also be seeing a cardiologist on Tuesday as a precaution.

Thanks to the Owlet we were alerted to an oxygenation issue, we might not have otherwise realized he had. So if you wonder if the Owlet works or is worth the money, we can definitely tell you that it does and it is.
