My little boy is 2 and a half . His dad didn’t want him and has had nothing to do with him since I told him at 16 weeks .
The last few weeks he has now started calling my dad (his grandad ) dad or daddy . I don’t know what I should do ??help please

  • A would let him it will do know harm my dad was around and my grandad was my dad to and my own dad didn’t mind! He will know it’s not but everyone’s different it done me and my sister no harm calling him dad and tbh he was best dad ever ❤️

  • My eldest daughter had no dad i still stayed with my mum and dad and she calls him dad rather than grandad she just copied me she understands fully and is still happy to do it so absolutely fine x

  • It’s pretty harmless I wouldn’t make a big deal about it. Just correct him or greet your dad as grandad he’ll soon pick it up. I used to call my grandad dad. X

  • My fiancè still calls his grandad dad . His nan and grandad raised him . He calls his nan ..nan though . Your son is probably copying you …it won’t do no harm . If your dad don’t mind . Just when your talking about your dad to your son still call him grandad . X

  • When u say grandad the last part kiddies hear is dad so it maybe that’s what he hears and says instead of grandad hit repeat grandad after each time

  • My little boy went through a stage where he called everyone mummy or daddy, even called the childminder mummy 🙈 now he can say more words and names he says it less. Xx

  • Its harmless i wouldnt worry. My son calls his granny mum as he hears myself an my sisters callin her that. Nothing to worry about. Its a phase he will grow out of it

  • Its totally fine just let him, when he grows up he’ll know your dad is his grandad but may still call him dad, my two cousins call our grandad dad and always have x

  • Just leave him to it, at that age hes just copying, my daughter used to do it! She even called her nursery teacher dad for months 😂

  • My grandson is being taught to call his uncle by his first name. His dad bailout when ultrasound told the baby was a boy. How ahead and give grand dad a cool name like Paw Paw or Peeps… You can call your dad that too. School now talks to kids and tells them all kids don’t have mom and dad. Some have grandparents or just one parent. Some have aunts. . He will be fine.

  • I e always been honest with my son,I told him that some people have a mummy and daddy and some people have their mummy as a das as well, he like too call my dad his pretend dad

  • I’d correct him before it gets confusing. You may have to call your dad grandad I call my mum nanny

  • my son does this even to strangers in the street, I just tell him no that’s not daddy daddy has gone away ect and he’s 1 x
