PPP non-judgemental advice please!!
I was in a severe domestic violence relationship for a year which resulted in me having a child, before she was born he got found guilty on all accounts of abuse by the courts and got a 2 year restraining order. One of the accounts of abuse was that he pushed me to the ground and kicked me in my bump whilst wearing steal capped toed safety boots. It’s now two years on and I’m with a lovely man who has taken on my daughter as his own. We’ve changed her name by deed poll to his as we are trying for another and would like them to have the same name. He’s planning on adopting her when we get married which is in November 2018.
We had a letter through today from a solicitor saying that the biological father is taking me to court on Valentine’s Day 2018 because he wants access, we are horrified, although we did know he would try. I would never ever in a million years stop a child from seeing it’s father but in this case I don’t see it as beneficial at all!! She has a lovely home and family and little friends and is such a happy little girl.
Has anyone had the same sort of situation? We are obviously going to get a solicitor the best we can afford, naturally my other half is heartbroken as he loves her to pieces and I’m terrified as in my eyes he’s already tried to hurt her once when he kicked me in the bump.
