I have custody of a 21mth little boy, he has been with me a year now. Both parents are heroin addicts and he was removed at birth, heroin was being injected in first trimester, then 120mg methadone a day (no one can be totally sure if any other drugs was used) for rest of pregnancy. He was born low weight at full term and had to go cold turkey from the drug dependency. He seemed ok but as he grows each developmental stage throws up something new, usually muscle related. No professional seems to know what the future holds as no long term studies have been done, so I was just wondering if anyone has had experience of similar children and their development please?
