Hi basically my sister was called in to school the other day to say that her little boy is being put back down to reception, I’m wondering if anyone has been through this, they have told her he is failing year 1, baring in mind he’s only been In that year about 2 months and he’s 5 years old how could he be failing the whole year I’m so confused, and my sister is so upset especially for him loosing his friends he’s made, just looking for people’s advice what to do, have you been through the same? Is it a good thing to put him down a year again. Thanks

No refuse it!!! They can not do that at all change schools if needs be that’s pathetic he has barely had time to settle in and this will knock his confidence and take him away from friends
Teachers should really give him chance they wanted mine to stay behind and I said no she need a chance and she proven them wrong she can do it x and we all prove them wrong kid need a CHANCE it’s only 2months alot of time to catch up xx
