Ryanair Are Changing The Luggage Rules!

From 15th January Ryanair are changing the rules for hand luggage.

Most airlines allow one small hand bag plus one small suitcase which you are able to take on to the plane with you.

However, Ryanair are the first to buck this trend and are now insisting that all suitcases or large bags are to be placed in the hold.  This is at no extra cost to the customer, as long as they fit within Ryanairs size guidelines for hand luggage.

Ryanair currently allows you to carry two items of hand luggage on board.

You will, from 15th January, be able to take a small bag on to the plane with you – such as a handbag or laptop bag, with a max size of 35cm x 20cm x 20cm but with no weight restriction.

However, all larger bags – upto 55cm x 40cm x 20cm with a 10kg weight limit must be placed in the hold, but without any added cost.

How do these changes effect you?

Would it make you rethink travelling with Ryanair in the future?

Let’s us know in the comments.

It would make a big difference to me. It’s not just about the cost, although that is a big factor, carrying hand luggage negates the need to queue/wait for baggage handling services. It is likely that I would not fly with Ryanair unless there were no alternative.
