We Only Have 18 Summers With Our Children

It actually struck me so hard when I realised I only had 18 summers with my children.

You only really have 18 summers with your babies/kids actually probably less because let’s face it most of them aren’t gonna wanna hit the beach with their mum once they hit around 14 or 15 or maybe younger building sand castles and eating sand sandwiches.

They will want to be with their friend sitting in the local park texting boys or out on their bikes or playing a game of footie with their mini gang.

I’ve literally only got 6 summers, my eldest is 12 this may be the last school holidays where he isn’t ashamed to be with me, my other two children are 7 and 8 so a few more summers with them.

I urge you all when the weathers good let the house go a bit, your kids will remember your beach days, how you built sandcastles, had that picnic on the beach and did the car journey home covered mostly in sand and sun cream I’ve wasted so many summers already worried what people will think when my house is a mess.

NOT THIS SUMMER, this one I’m going to make it special, I don’t need to spend a fortune to make amazing memories.

So if you come to my house and if it is messy please remember I am running out of summers and the house work can wait, if you do not like it feel free to stay and clean up for me, whilst I am memories for my children who are growing up way too fast.
