A lady at my work has confided in me today that she contracted Herpes from an ex partner, I wasn’t fully aware what it was until I looked on google when I got home.
I’m really worried now as I’ve read that I can be spread by touching only, problem being is that she has borrowed my lipstick in the past, which I’ve since used and I’m petrified that I may now have it.
When searching on Google, I also saw a story come up about a baby who lost her life recently from someone with herpes kissing her – I have a toddler who I kiss daily…..my mind is in overdrive over this 😢
Can anyone advise please, the lipstick has now been thrown.
I will continue to be a listening ear to her, as she was distraught when telling me….I’m genuinely that me and my little one have been put at risk

Herpes simplex (cold sores) which is what you are referring to around the story about a child becoming unwell through a kiss…..are a totally different virus to genital herpes which I’m sure she is referring to that she caught from an ex
There is 2 types off herpes if she has type 2 genital herpes you won’t catch type 1 from her. If she does have herpes on the mouth then yes don’t share Lipstick and it is dangerous to kiss babies or people with a low immune system
Unless she put the lipstick on her vagina … chances are it will be fine. It’s only contagious during an outbreak anyway
Sod that id be worried what ever type it was go to your doctor hun in morning and explain everything to her shell do tests etc
