Another private post plz… I have a 11 week old baby her father and I split 5 weeks ago… he don’t seem interested and as only seen her max 10 hours in 5 weeks so I’m literally doing it alone no family at all… bin feeling a little anxious so went to the doctors today they gave me sertraline… don’t really won’t to go down this route (my mum was addicted to anti depressants) suppose just need advise to wether they will work quickly….I feel bad feeling this way because I’m truly blessed but can’t seem to shake it off thanks in advance š

To answer your question though, it will take a few weeks to a couple of months for them to start working fully.. max two months I’d say.. usually around 6 weeks.. the first few weeks can be pretty tough but you’ve got to battle through it! I had a lot of nasty side effects with sertraline. . But then again, you’re not supposed to give anti depressants to someone with bipolar anyway (this was pre bipolar diagnosis so doctors just thought I had depression aha)
I used to work in mental health and I also studied a foundation in mental health nursing (never did the degree though).. so I have a fairly good understanding of some medications and side effects etc (: xx
Nothing to feel bad about! Sertraline took 3 months to get into my system if you feel you need them then take them xx
What about going to Holland and Barrett…. try something herbal…. xxx
