Who Is The Best DISNEY PRINCESS?

Disney is something so many people love, it doesn’t matter if you are young, old, male, female and everything in between, Disney speaks to so many different people!

We asked our members at Mums Advice Private Chat to vote for their favourite Disney Princess.

These are the results!

14. Jasmine

Aladdin 1992

This royal beauty is from the 1992 movie Aladdin, the story of how, with the help of a magically genie, a young street rat wins the heart of this princess!

13. Pocahontas

Pocahontas 1995

Based on the real life story of Pocahontas, this 1995 movie isn’t exactly true to life – I’m fairly certain the real Pocahontas didn’t actually talk a tree or magically learn English.  But it’s still a fantastic film.

12. Anna

Frozen 2013

Frozen took the world by storm when it was released in 2013 this princess was somewhat over shadowed by her older sister (well get to her later) but she definitely held her own and let’s be honest is one of the funniest princesses Disney has to offer.

11. Tiana

The Princess and the Frog 2009

This heartwarming movie puts a fantastic twist on a classic fairytale.  Spending much of the film covered in mucus (not slim) 2009’s The Princess and the Frog did a brilliant job of showing us all a hard working leading lady that had goal she was determined to see though.  What a great role model!

10. Aurora

Sleeping Beauty 1959

This princess spends much of the movie snoozing after being placed under a curse by the evil Malificent.  Appropriately named, Sleeping Beauty’s Princess Aurora was inspired by the long, thin, willowy body shape of Audrey Hepburn.

9. Elsa

Frozen 2013

Truthfully Elsa from 2013’s smash hit Frozen is actually a Queen, but we won’t hold that against her!  The ‘Let it Go’ star is responsible for countless viewing and sing along sessions of this amazing Disney classic!

8. Snow White

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1937

The original Disney Princess.  This is the one that started it all!  The fairest in the land with lips and red and the rose, hair as dark as ebony, skin as white as snow! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was made in 1937 making is an amazing EIGHTY years old!!!

7. Merida

Brave 2012

This is our only princess to come to us from the Pixar universe.  Brave came to us in 2012 but many don’t know that it’s original title was actually ‘The Bear and the Bow’ and is the first Pixar movie set in the real world.

6. Cinderella

Cinderella 1950

This classic beauty is from the movie of the same name released in 1950.  Cinderella is based on the old folk tale but the original version is quite different with a much gorier ending for the step sister and evil step mother!

5. Moana

Moana 2016

The newest princess on this list is 2016’s Moana, based in Ancient Polynesia, when a terrible curse begins to effect Moana’s island, she answers the Ocean’s call to seek out Maui the Demigod to set things right.

4. Mulan

Mulan 1998

Mulan is truly an inspiration to many young women, showing what incredible things you can accomplish when you try.  Plus she saved China.  She is kind of a big deal.
This classic movie contains one of the great Disney songs of all time (I’ll make a man out of you, obviously).  This 1998 movie was the first ever Disney film to be released on DVD.

3. Rapunzel

Tangled 2010

Tangled (2010) is without doubt one of the greatest modern Disney films, with adventure, amazing songs and lovable characters it’s plain to see why Rapunzel has made her way into so many people’s hearts.  Did you know that over 45,000 lanterns were used during the ‘I See The Light’ scene.

2. Ariel

The Little Mermaid 1989

The Little Mermaid’s red headed beauty is claiming second place.  Ariel is a rebellious 16 year old princess with a womping 6 sisters!  Ariel’s looks were based on Alyssa Milano, she was given her iconic red hair to make sure she stood out from the previous Disney Princesses!

1. Belle

Beauty and the Beast 1991

In the top spot as the most popular Disney Princess is of course Beauty and the Beast’s Belle.  This incredible princess shows us the importance of not judging a book but it’s cover and learning to love what is on the inside.  A real role model to all, Belle shows love and compassion to everyone she meets.
