Can i have a post please.
Hey mummies – I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and had my detailed scan today. It showed on the scan that I have a low lying placenta. I will get re-scanned at 32 weeks (due to gestational diabetes I will b getting regular growth scans anyways). I was wondering if anyone had this and have the placenta move before the 32 week mark? Or if I prepare for it not moving. I have had 3 natural births so the thought of having to have a section is really playing on my mind. TIA xx

I never had low lying placenta but I had planned c section (first baby aswell) and it was honestly nothing to worry over 🙂
Hopefully u don’t get to that point if u can deliver naturally. But to reassure u that a c section was for me a lovely expierancr. Yes the after part was longer recovery but I was still able to get about etc xxx
Fingers crossed for u 🙂
I had my 12 week scan and it showed the placenta was low lying and is apparently quite common however I was like you and was worrying so much but by 32week scan placenta was no longer in the way apparently as you grow bigger it gets moved a lot of the time or something can’t remember exactly what the sonographer said though so hopefully someone else knows more for you.. good luck… something that I kept saying was I didn’t care how baby gets here in the end as long as me and more importantly baby was happy and healthy was all that mattered x
Mine never moved, right up until I had my son. I had to have a planned c section. The whole process of it was fine though. It’s just after, you’ll be in a lot of pain, and if you already have kids, you’ll need some help x
I had it with both of my boys and had scans at 33 weeks where they had both moved… it could still move after that point, I was told they’ll leave it until 38 weeks if the pregnancy is going well. It’s out of your hands, try not to worry over it. X
I had a low lying placenta at my 20 wk scan with my youngest, went back at 32 wks for a growth scan (I had them regularly for other reasons ) and it had moved enough, I went back at 34 wks and it had moved even more….Good luck l, try not to worry x
Thanks for the comments ladies my mind is most defiantly at peace hearing all ur stories. As long as little lady arrives safe and sound I’ll b a happy mummy. Just the thought of not having that birthing that I have envisioned in my head I suppose. Baby number 4 and always kinda dreaded the thought of needing a section simply because of the recovery after but if it is wat need to b done to bring her into the world safely I’ll trust the professionals lol. Xxx
I had a low lying placenta and after 3 natural births I was so worried that I may end up with a section but thankfully mine moved too! Good luck with bubba no.4 😊
I had a low lying placenta and it didn’t move I also bled and ended up on hospital bedrest for 3 weeks and then needs emergency section at 36weeks
with my last pregnancy i had gestational diabetes , also a low lying placenta. at my 30 week scan it had moved – still had to have c section though because of a previous tear. . .I had 3 previous natural births before that …i prefered the c section lolxx
This is same as me! Tracey Dee hope mine has moved xx
I had this at my 20 week scan for my 3rd baby. Went back at 31 weeks and it had moved and was perfectly fine.
