Can I have a pp please?

Does anyone know how you go about getting a child tested for adhd? I’m too scared to ask teachers or doctors incase they reckon I’m not coping, I’m a single parent basically to a 5 year old boy and there has been suspicions on him having adhd from other family members and his dad but it’s just taking that plunge to get it done… I’m just paranoid they will think I’m looking for a excuse of his behaviour? Thanks X

  • I’m a single parent and fought for 5 years for a diagnosis for my son. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If he does have ADHD the earlier it is diagnosed the better.
Talk to your GP about a referral and speak to school about any concerns they may have x

  • Ud need school on ur side to get a diagnosis so I’d start with school find out his struggles there get educational psychologist involved and go from there behaviour maybe good in school but they’d see issues with fidgeting and not listening as much as average children do after that speak to doctors

  • I would speak to your gp… they can request a referral usually to a school nurse and they usually refer on if they have concerns.

Never be scared to ask for help or support. That’s what they are there for!!x
