Can I have a pp please. My husband’s ex partner who hates me has a 9 year old child with him, they lived together many moons ago and were registered at the same doctors. Anyway fast forward 6 years later we have an 11 month old baby girl who has a list of health problems and spends a lot of time in the doctors/hospital. The ex partner does not know what area we live in due to a whole load of grief (contact with their child is through a contact centre) so today our daughter had a doctor’s appointment at 9am at 8.40 my husband rings me saying the ex had been on the phone to my FIL screaming saying she’s named as a next of kin for our child (really as if) the doctors had phoned her to get hold of our babies next of kin. So of course I’m fuming I get to the doctors demanding answers so basically when my husband was with his ex partner she was named as his next of kin over 7 years ago at his old doctors now he’s been registered at mine for years, but I can see how they easily made a mistake by contacting his next of kin when they couldn’t contact him. But now here’s the issue not only did the doctor disclose my daughters full name date of birth what the doctor wanted us for but also my address ! The doctors have apologised but surely they breached data protection and safe guarding I’m raging to say the least. What if someone was fleeing domestic violence and the doctors just then willy nilly hand out information. Because then later in the day the doctor had a call to say remove my husband off the list as he’s not our child’s father so I’m dreading where this is going to end up 😟
