hi ladies, would you say my LG has a UTI? or some sort of infection? (i had these sticks left over from when she was under the hospital for something else before anyone starts bashing and telling me i shouldnt be using them) she said her “noony” hurt so i tested her wee just now, obviously i cant ring the doctors until tomorrow but im worried as its showing blood in her urine. TIA.

  • Ring them, I have duplex kidneys so get a lot of uti and kidney infections and they can be so damageing esspecialy for little ones, the sooner you get treatment the better. When I was younger I would have to stay in hospital and have iv antibiotics because of my condition. The hospital will probably ask you to come in and do another wee test and then write you off a prescription, I’m not trying to frighten you but blood in urine can also be a lot of other things so I would deffinatley get her checked out.
Also just to say if you find that uti are a problem for her and she gets them a lot , depending on age you can ask your gp if she could possibley have running antibiotics, bassicly just one she takes a small dose of everyday to prevent her having them rather than just treating when they come. • I thought blood was hb? If so there is no blood in her urine. Also UTI normally has leukocytes Nd nitrates (but not always) however she looks slightky dehydrated (sg is slightly brown should be green). For girls its quite common get leukocytes from the vulva give her a bath and take another sample straight away if still the same take her to the drs.
My son has complex kidney issues so im used to these 😁 xx

  • For antibiotics to be prescribed leukocytes nitrates and blood should be present along with symptoms. This only has leukocytes. I suggest plenty of fluids and if she becomes symptomatic then get medical attention.

  • There’s blood in there. I used to have to test my little boys urine daily for something and it always came up with leukocyte

  • Leukocytes dont necessarily mean a uti, you looking for those and nitrates also for a positive uti, blood is showing up positive though so its best to get her checked x

  • I’d say uti . My 5 month old is just getting over one , my sister in law is a paramedic practitioner & she tested her urine for me as my Drs are useless . She said with uti’s there is always traces of blood so it doesn’t always mean there is blood . But I would definitely get her seen asap . Depending on how old she is & how much it’s hurting her I’d ring 111 & they may send you to a&e that’s what they done with us . Hope she gets antibiotics soon xxx
