Can I have a ppp. My 10 month old baby loves climbing and generally getting around as much as she can as fast as she can. She has 5 teeth, I’ve seen her use her teeth as well as her hands to pull herself up in stuff. I found this quite funny to watch until the other day she climbed up my Dad’s body and bite down on his stomach to pull herself up. And then less than a hour ago she was sitting on my Mum’s lap, decided she wanted to see over her shoulder so she started climbing and my Mum let out a massive scream, nearly dropped the baby and I couldn’t believe my eyes. She had drawn blood!! She left bruising on my Dad which is bad enough, but now blood. I genuinely don’t feel like I know enough about babies development yet, so I can’t make an educated decision on how to deal with this. Is this bad behaviour or is she learning….or is it both. Both times I’ve said no sternly and removed her from the person, this seems to be punishment because she loves being held by my parents. Am i doing enough or should I be doing something else? We’re going to a toddler play group today, and I’m now nervous that she will do the same to a child!! I have no idea how to deal with a angry parent, I too would feel angry if my child got hurt by another…. Is this even normal for children to do? When I was young I used to bite other children quite often, my Mum said she just said no to me and hoped I’d stop, I didn’t stop…I remember the last time I did it was when I was about 7 😂 was I just a bugger or is saying no just simply not enough. I don’t want to go down the route of biting her back, this has been suggested to me, but there’s not a chance in hell I could do that. Thanks ladies x
