Can I have a private post please ?
I have recently split up with my controlling and emotionally abusive ex. I’ve had nothing but trouble off him and his family for the last 5 years. My daughter is 5 months old, and I have been nice enough to take her round to see his parents every now and again, even though whilst there I would just get criticised.

Since we haven’t been together I’ve not heard anything from any of the family or my ex. Never have I said I won’t let them see her, but I feel like if they did see her I would have to take her round on my own accord.

I received the attached text
messages yesterday from my ex’s brothers girlfriend. I’ve been nice to her in the messages, and I would make the effort to take her round more often, but until they call/text or come around to my house I don’t feel I should make an effort. As if they want to be a part of her life, they should be the ones to make the effort I feel.

I wouldn’t want her to go round there on her own as they have 4 of their sons living with them, and they argue a lot very loudly and I don’t want her to grow up thinking it’s okay to speak to others in an aggressive manner, or for her to let people speak to her like that.

Am I doing the wrong thing ? Should I be taking her round more often even though they’ve made no effort to see how she is ? (They live about 8 miles from me) the most of the family drive themselves..
