Can I have a private post please:-
I work nights for a well known supermarket, I’ve advised them that I’m pregnant (currently 6 weeks) as my work entails heavy lifting & pulling of heavy cages. My doctor has done me a note stating no heavy lifting throughout pregnancy as I had a miscarriage last year & they continued to make me lift heavy items etc, which he believes didn’t help my situation.
I’ve had a meeting with occupational health, they said they’re no suitable jobs on nights so advised that I have to go onto days / evenings.
I’ve had my meeting with HR today & they’ve offered me alternative work & hours, which is great, but they are advising me that they can only honour my night rate pay for 4 weeks then I’m going to drop to day rate & I’ll be loosing £80 a month!!! I’m sure I read somewhere that they have to honour my night rate in full until I go onto maternity leave as it’s not my fault that there isn’t anything suitable on nights for me to do?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊
