Can I have a private post please,
I’m a council tenant, in temporary accommodation. I received a letter on Monday (08/05/17) telling me I was behind on my rent by £280 because the benefit has been capped by some new law type of thing. There was an application attached I was to fill in and hand into council, they’d pay the £70 odd a week for me if I was successful because of my low income. Was going to hand it in tomorrow. Got a letter tonight telling me I’m being evicted in June because I’ve not responded to the letter yet and I’m still in arrears of £280!!! The court have signed the letter agreeing I’ve to be out by a date in June!!! If I go in tomorrow and explain I’ve only had one letter TWO DAYS ago, can this be solved or will I definitely be evicted?! So worried as I’ve been in a bed and breakfast with two babies to get this house in the first place 😫 x

That’s pretty quick for them to gone court already .. I was in 2k,rent arrears . and still.didn’t take me court .. I would just go in tmrw and explain .
I would ring them they can’t evict you with out taking you to court which you would have received a date to go along to. Are you sure that’s what the letter said x
