Can i have a private post please..

Just looking for advice..
So i have recently found out i am 7 weeks pregnant (7+3). I found out at about 4/5 weeks. I have been bleeding for about 10 days. I rang the hospital for advice as I know some bleeding is normal. They said they don’t deal with anything under 12 weeks, anyway i paid for a private scan which i had yesterday.. baby is fine, heartbeat was heard etc, but i was told i had a heamatoma next to the sac. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Is it anything to worry about? I don’t see my midwife until next week so not sure if i need to let anybody know or just mention it to her. Thanks.

  • They don’t deal with anyone under 12 weeks?! When a person is bleeding I would assume that’s a medical matter and the hospitals purpose and job to “deal” with it?!🤦🏼‍♀️ I hope everything is okay for you! Take it easy for now! Hopefully when you see the midwife she can reassure you and complain about whoever you spoke to at the hospital!

  • Hi I had a heamatoma they found mine at 6 as I had to have a early scan anyway with having 3 miscarriages I bleed for a week quiet a lot and then had to go back to the hospital at 7 weeks ring your doctor or ring the early pregnancy unit they are really good helped me a lot with every miscarriage I have had and with my pregnancy I have now by time I got to my 12weeks scan the heamatoma had gone and now I’m nearly 20weeks pregnancy xx

  • It’s common to see- I’m a sonographer and see it often in early pregnancy. Regarding not seeing you until 12 weeks is rubbish if you are bleeding they should scan you- most hospitals have an early pregnancy unit- find one near by – you shouldn’t have to pay for a private scan

  • I had this, my body re absorbed it and my little monkey is now 7 months. Try not to worry and relax as much as possible, the midwife should be able to give you a little bit more information. X

  • I had one also. They like to keep an eye on it as im sure if its bigger than baby you have a higher risk of miscarriage… so rest as much as you can until you see your midwife

  • I had a heamatoma and bled from 4 weeks until 12 weeks, i was told to take it easy, no heavy lifting and she did say i might miscarry before week 12, i had massive blood/clot losses….i now have an amazing 4 year old little girl.

  • I did with my first, it just dispersed itself. I bled until about 16 weeks on and off and at my 20 week scan it had totally disappeared x

  • It’s just a fancy way of saying a cut or bruise next to it, in my experience it’s nothing to worry about but definitely mention it when you see your midwife when you see her but it shouldn’t cause any harm to the baby, I had one and a few people who I know have also had them they appear to be quite common xx

  • I had this and bled until about 18 weeks. I had a number of scans and looked like I bled it all out or absorbed it. I now have a healthy 20 month old. Good luck x
