Can I have a private post please
My son is in the process of being diagnosed with autism. Hes 10, I have been struggling for Years with his behaviour and quite Literally feel like I’m in a domestic violent relationship with my own son he hits me and his siblings breaks anything in his way will argue over anything and I mean anything he calls me horrendous hurtful names constantly, my other two children are absolutely petrified of him and now the school has decided to cut his hours there as they can’t cope with his behaviour I’m at my wits end!!!😭 how long does an autism referral take I’m loosing my mind

It can depend on the area but in some cases it can be months (ours was a full year from referral to diagnosis ). Have you signed anything to say that you are happy having his hours cut? If not then it is an illegal exclusion from the school & you have every right to refuse to collect him until the end of school day. Speak to your local authority & Ofsted on the matter
Its against the law to cut children’s school hours…….something needs put into place, tell them its against the law to exclude a child from school, go to the school board. The more your son misses school or feels left out the worse school will be for him. X
I think it jst depends. My sons 2.5yrs and hes in the process of gettin assesed for autism too. Think its different in diff areas xx
my daughter is the same and i keep telling people i think shes autistic but one person within her school is turning a blind eye i dont know how to get her diagnosed xx
My sons been in and out of them from 1 year old he got diagnosed 2 months ago and he’s about to turn 7
