Can I please have an anonymous post?
My son is a couple months shy of 2years and we have recently welcomed him with a new baby brother. Now all in all he’s usually pretty good with him, rubs his head, kisses his head and sits and will sook with his arms out for us to squat down and hold baby brother on his lap. But, from time to time he has gotten jealous, and will come up and throw something at him, try to poke him or will just be careless around him. I keep trying to tell him to be gently and nice and I try to include him as much as I can, but I wanted to get him a baby doll, so he can hold that while I hold his brother, and he can learn how to be nice and gentle etc. would it be wrong if me to buy him one without him actually asking? I’ve always seen posts like these and the mum is asking if she should buy her son the doll he wants and I think yes of course if that’s what he’s asked for. But my son isn’t even two, has never seen a doll before, and doesn’t understand very much you tell him, so I don’t want to push anything onto him, I don’t know.
I just want to know what people’s opinions on buying a 21 month old boy a baby doll? Thankyou in advance x
