Depends on the choices you make on the degree if it is part time you do not get any help except the tuition fees. If it is full time and you are a single parent you get paid half of the housing benefits. If you are with a relationship you get paid only maintenance loan.
I did it. I got full housing benefit and child tax credits, child benefit and dla for my son. Then from student finance maintenance loan, special support grant, parents learning allowance, nhs bursery and childcare grant x
If you go university you loose all benefits and instead live off the student loans which does not get paid back till your earning a certain amount
Student loans don’t take into consideration part time work either so if doesn’t affect the amount you get off them inbox me if you have any more questions 🙂
I go to uni and you still get part of your housing benefit, you can still work and get tax credits and you get your student loan too xx
Some councils dont take into account your student loan so you get full housing benefit but not all do. You will lose any income support but get student loans (which you dont pay back until your earning over 21 grand) and grants
I’ve been doing primary teaching full time at uni, student finance don’t take part time job into account. If you get housing benefit you are entitled to a top up of student loan/grant which usually amounts to around £4000 a term. I still received tax credits snd child benefit xx
What about people with a partner going to uni? What do you get?
Feel free to pm I’m currently a single parent at uni x
