Could I have a PPP .
Not technically baby related, but wondering if anyone can help. I currently privately rent an one bedroom house, I pay £575 a month for the property and am 20 weeks pregnant with my first child. Recently I had a gas engineer come to the property, who condemned the boiler, leaving me with no hot water, another gas engineer came today to look at the boiler and condemned the fire. Now this property has no double glazing the only heating in the house is the gas fire, and the insulation is lower than regulation, the property is freezing in the summer let alone in the winter. Last winter I struggled to get the property above 12 degrees. My little boy is due the start of December, I know I can wrap him in blankets and thick clothes, but I just don’t feel as though the house meets the needs of an adult let alone a newborn. I have made the estate agents aware that I’m pregnant and expecting in December and they still cut the only heating off. I wasn’t told they were disconnecting it, and haven’t been given a reason. Does anyone know is the council will help in my situation?
Thanks in advance

  • I work in property lettings management and it is illegal for you to be left with no heat source or hot water-please ring your agency and ask that it is fixed immediately or go to your local environmental health team at the council who can enforce the Landlord to replace the broken boiler x

  • Your landlord should be sorting this out for you. A new boiler and fire .
