Could I have a ppp!
Hi guys. Was just wondering if any of you have a child with autism/ADHD? How was they diagnosed? How did you notice you needed a professional opinion? Sorry for the questions. I’m just a tad worried about my son. I know none of you are professionals but having a bit of information from you guys will help me decide what steps to take next if any.. Thank you in advance xx

My son was diagnosed at age 5 and I had to push for people to listen, I had no eye contact no words used to line toys and get extremely upset if it wasn’t how he put it no awareness of danger but with speech problems it’s hard the nursery that I got him into was a huge help and got all sorts of therapist to the nursery. At end of the day you know your child and if feel someone right then continue to pressure till u have seen some specialists my son has asd and 15 now and doing great on most things having issues makes u feel and think all sorts u are not alone. They say that most autistic children don’t like to be touched but my boy loved a cuddle so can’t always say that is a definite trate xx
It took 18 months of assessments for my daughter to sit the ados test she was diagnosed with autism and spp, if you need a chat or any info my inbox is open xx
Beat speaking to school n going through them I knew my son was at age of 2 verbally diagnosed at 3 and fully diagnosed age 6 age 7,I could really tell watching him with peers
First point is age. How old is child?
Next stop is your HV for a referral to your local outreach/CAHMS team. Then the local pead will want to meet child.
What signs are you concerned about? What’s made you question it?
I work with ASD, ADHD and also have a son who has autism. That was picked up at 16 months by HV as I fought since 8 months that he had it so he was giving early support.
