Could I have a ppp
I had a c section 2 weeks ago and a few days later I had a sore throat, now it’s a lot worse and I have a awful cough which is painful and painful for my scar, it’s getting worse as the days go on. Can not get a doctors appointment. They will ring if one becomes available and I called 111 and they say I need to be seen within 24 hours. Anyone had this before? My scar has healed very well but I’ve read online that this could be a sign of infection?
Thanks

  • Wait until the GP closes and call 111 for an out of hours appointment. Not heard of it being a sign of infection but they will want to see you as coughing could pop your stitches internally or externally, better to be safe and get checked as it’s major surgery! 😊

  • Get in touch with your midwife just to be on the safe side – but my advice? Try to steer clear of google – yes it’s informative but it can scare the crap out of you – trust me have scared myself silly on way too many occasions!!

  • Hold a cushion/pillow tightly over your scar when you cough or sneeze. The pressure eases the pain. I had my c section 3 weeks ago and a cushion was my best friend for the first week, including in the car between my scar and the seatbelt xx

  • You need to phone the surgery back or get hold of your midwife (you are still within the 28days post birth category ). You may have picked up an infection from the hospital & could need antibiotics to treat it
