Could I have a private post please. I need some advice. My mum had a baby boy 5 months ago. Since I can remember he always seems to be ill/congested etc. Sounds like he has a terrible cough/blocked nose all the time. She’s told me he chokes a lot on his milk which I have seen myself, and sometimes he’ll hold his breath to the point he’ll go blue from “choking” on milk or where he’s coughing so much. He’s been to the doctors so many times, had many chest infections etc, even been admitted into hospital one time because of the chest infections. Now I’m 20 myself and have a daughter on my own so I know what I’m doing when it comes to knowing if my baby brother is well or not. But I struggle to be around to help as I live quite a while from her so can’t be near her to keep an eye on the baby a lot. Sometimes I’ll stay for 2 nights and go back home. My mum was never really good with me and my brother and we grew up with our dad as she couldn’t really cope.
I’m quite worried about my baby brother and will be going to a doctors appointment with him tommorow with my mum to hear for myself what they say and explain what I’ve seen to them. As my mum isn’t too good at explaining things. I’m worried at how she’s coping but I’m mainly worried about why he seems to be so ill all the time and the doctors just try giving him antibiotics all the time which don’t help. Has anybody else had this with their babies and it’s been an underlying condition of something that the doctors are missing/not getting all information from my mum to diagnose? Would like to know opinions before I take him myself tommorow thank you.
