What do you say to a 2.5 year old when they ask for their dad and you have seperated , my situation is quite messed up and he is in my sons life for a couple of weeks then doesnt have contact for like 3 months then has him a few times then stops for a few months etc this is down to social services and his dads drug use.

Yes ive been offered a non contact order till my sons 16 off social services and have turned it down many times and they have agreed his contact has to be supervised by a member of his family , as when he is clean and sober he is the best dad i could wish for for my son and he also pays his maintanance everyweek but at the moment i feel stuck in an endless cycle.

Just put my son to bed and he said he wanted dad , i said dads working and he turned round and said ‘dads always working’ and cried .

What else can i say to him , recent contact with his dad was one night a week for 7 weeks brilliant passed every drug test , working with sms etc then a week ago his family member supervising contact found steroids and needles in his bag in the same room my son was in 😠his excuse for this was that he might be going to prison in 2 weeks and he needed to handle himself in prison -.- i have no idea when my son will see him again i just dont know how to explain the situation to a child so young -.-
