Has any one had a 5th baby? I went to the hospital today to talk to an Anethatist and they told me because off my blood group and because he is my 5th baby that I have had to sign a blood transfusion consent letter, there will be blood on standby for me,I have got to have a hormone drip as soon as I have delivered him for 4 hours to contract my uterus and stop me bleeding out the Anethatist will be on standby in case I have to go theatre 😔 I can honestly say I am shitting it now any advice please and how long were your labours ext?

I’ve only had 4 and did bleed more straight after my last but it could of been that I had him from 1st pain to baby in 42 mins. they will only be preparing you for worst case and you will hopefully be fine xx
Im on baby number 8 yes its all normal there’s things in place for me as high risk of bleed and quick birth the drip is good you r restricted for 4hrs but it gives u that rest time after birth xx
Ive had 6 babies, I was never told anything about hormone drip, they did say the chance of hemoraging is greater the more babies you have.
Have you had any previous problems after labour?
I had my 8th. I refused the drip each time. My only heavy bleed was after my 1st birth. That was only due to forceps being used as baby got stuck. I have never had to see Anethatist before hand maybe that’s due to your blood group. But remember you don’t HAVE to do anything. Lots of mums have over 5 and don’t have drips or any trouble. Just go look in to it all . Good luck
I have 5 inc 1 set of twins and I never had a drip.
