Hello I’ve never messaged on this page so not sure how it works but could you ask if anyone else has ever had their child’s tongue tie cut under general anaesthetic.
Long story short it wasn’t noticed at hospital and was given wrong information by midwives/doctors and then Addenbrooks took 8 weeks to give me an appointment and when we finally went (my son was 3 &1/2 months) the doctor said he was to old to just snip it and he would have to have general.
We have been called today and offered and appointment for next month (my son will be 5 1/2 months by then)
I’m not sure what to do? I’m a FTM so probably worrying to much but my son is just so young and I don’t know how I feel about putting him under GA.
He is having trouble feeding and weight just fluctuate so my gut says to have it as will save any issues in the future but it feels like such big surgery for such a little human 😔
Have any mum/dads been through this and willing to share their experience?

My little boy was tongue tied and had the operation at 13 month. Was the best decision I made by him having it done. The younger he is the better as he won’t remember it. And you’ll see a big difference in his feeding. X
