Hello, would it be possible to have a private post please?

I’m not really sure what to expect from this but I suppose I’m looking for a bit of advise from some step parents…
I have 2 step children who are in their late teens & a little one of our own. My step children have lived with us since my little one was born so roughly 6 years now & we all have a fantastic relationship. But sometimes I struggle though when my step son goes to his mums for 1 night a week (his choice)…it’s such a strange feeling I guess it’s almost like I’m lost because I’ve gone from 3 children, to 2 to 1 (oldest is at uni & therefore living away from home now) I also feel like I have to change myself because I’m not his Mum however I am acting as his mum when he’s at home & then all of a sudden I’m not. I don’t have any issues with his seeing his mum / having a relationship with her because he absolutely should & as a parent if I didn’t have a relationship with my kids I’d be heartbroken. I suppose I’m just wondering if anyone else has felt like this & how they manage it or if I’m just being completely stupid & emotional. Please no bashing, I’m simply trying to express how I feel without hurting anyone’s feelings 😪 thanks in advance for any advise.
