Hi can I have a pp please? I’m due in little over three weeks and I’m I just wondering what happens to mummies after they’ve given birth with group b strep? I’m to have IV antibiotics when I’m in labour after my waters have broke to prevent infection. Just wondering how long I’ll have to be in with baby being monitored after? I have another daughter at home and can’t stand hospitals and just want to be home asap!

I had this. And didn’t get the antibiotics because my labour was too fast so my little boy had to go to neonatal for a day and night to get them I had him on a Sunday morning and was home Tuesday evening
I had to stay in around 24-48hrs but that was over 4yrs ago. Its so they can monitor u and the baby.
