Hi can I have a private post please.

Does anyone have any advice what I can do please.. I applied for housing benefit in September when I moved into my first home with my 2 children, my claim still hasn’t been processed and for the past couple of months I’ve been scrimping and scraping borrowing my rent money from family and friends and I’ve nowhere else to turn, they have told me it could be weeks or months to wait every time I ring. I’m worried sick me and my kids are going to be made homeless. What can I do in the meantime? I was put through to someone regarding a grant for the meantime but was told it’s only for emergencies such as floods and fires etc. I didn’t realise it would take so long to process or I would’ve never gone through with the move. Has anyone been in this situation and have any advice please? My rent is due again after Christmas 😞 I’m self employed and not really taking a wage
