Hi can i have a private post please?
I was with my partner for 10 years before we got married. We have 2 children together. He left after 50 weeks of marriage, completely unexpected. Things were good before this, he didn’t wanna try at all. He was done.
I am still in our home paying for everything, whilst he is at his mums saving.
He is giving me maintenance for the kids.
He has asked me for a divorce today, which is fine.
Ive told him i am happy to split the cost (even tho i think he should pay as he left) but i cant until after i have taken the kids away.
His response today was “i’ll pay but will deduct money from the maintenance i give you”
Am i wrong to think he is taking the piss?!
Also, does anyone know if it is right that we have to wait 2 years after splitting before we can apply for divorce?! Thank You in advance!
