Hi can I have a private post please?
Just looking for some advice on relocation and guilt! Looking to relocate about four hours away from my parents to be in the countryside, by the sea and it would be near my partners family. My child isn’t my partners biologically, her biological dad was abusive and is now hanging around and threatening me with court. I had offered contact centre when the child was a baby but he declined, didn’t want to know but now has decided to start pestering again at an age where she would understand him dropping in and out of her life. My family are saying a move is a bad idea, selfish, and that it would hurt my grandparents dearly (kill them was the exact phrase used) I know that a fresh start in a lovely area, in a house of our own would do us the world of good but I just don’t know if I’m doing the right thing. We would visit but that isn’t good enough, surely not all families stay on each other’s doorsteps for life? You need to find your own way……
