Hi can I have a private post please. My baby girl is 5 month old and has had feeding issues since birth she was born premature. She suffers with reflux and is on gaviscon infant and ranitidine and is on special formula for possible cows milk allergy however I’ve seen 2 paeditirtions over the weekend who think it’s just reflux because she’s been on this milk 8 weeks and it hasn’t made a difference. She has had 2 hospital stays since coming home from neonatal due to reduced feeding. Everytime I try to feed her she just cries, arching her back and literally wont even attempt to suck the bottle. I’ve tried all different bottles, I’ve been to see that many doctors I’ve lost count. And noone seems to be bothered. I’ve rang PALS who did seem to help but this is literally so bad it’s taking me all day to feed her and all the doctors are contradicting what each other are saying. The only time she feeds well is when she is a asleep. She’s not gaining weight as good either. My health visitor is saying she’s dropping centile and failing to thrive whilst the doctors are saying it’s fine. I’ve started to wean her and she will take a spoon but even after so long of that she doesn’t want it. I’ve tried feeding her in a bouncer and distracting her by playing videos/music but even that doesn’t work at times. I think she has a bottle aversion due to feeding pain, what else can I do? Our household is so worried and stressed about it all. I literally feel sick with worry every feed and I dread it which sounds awful but I have no idea what I can do, I keep taking her everywhere with the same issue and noone knows or cares. She’s 3 hourly fed otherwise she wouldn’t have much milk if I left her go longer. Help please. Sorry for the long post x
