Hi can I have a private post please not sure which mum’s advice group this is best in but really need some help my son is currently on the waiting list to be assessed for ADD at his previous school I had been telling his teachers for ages that there’s something not quite right but they kept telling me he’s fine I moved him school just before the start of year 4 and his new teachers noticed within the first few weeks so they’ve helped with the referral and offering support but I don’t know what I can do to help in the mean time as his school work is declining he’s hitting himself and I feel lost I thought I would know what to do having been diagnosed with ADHD myself but it’s so hard his only friend has left the school he struggling to make new ones he’s becoming aware that he isn’t quite like the other kids his age I’ve been told I could be waiting till August to have that initial assessment but he needs help sooner than that but I don’t know what I can do
