Hi can I have a private post please

Hi just looking for some info in case anyone’s ever been in my situation
Back in 2010 I worked I was only young I had my first council flat I never paid my full rent as wanted nice things for my flat. 8 years on I’m still in the same flat me my partner and our 2 children I owe 1200 rent arrears currently. Iv been given priority due to over crowing. The council called me today and said I was number 1 for the property I bidded on last week but I can’t have it I have to clear all my arrears e An my partner don’t work. I can’t pay that much off any time soon I fear il be stuck now forever does anyone have any advice how I could get help please

Please no bashing I was young and silly with money
