Hi Can I have a Private post please
I really need some advise from anyone with past experience.
I’m 25 weeks pregnant, unfortunately the dad wanted me to abort at the start, so stoped contact with him until recently,he’s now changed his mind but wants it all his way he wants his family to have involvement with baby, to what Ive said to him no, as they have an aggressive past and strong religious views. he’s very controlling and has been verbally abusive, said if I don’t raise the child the way he wants then I had best watch myself and move countrie.. He hasn’t been to scan, paid anything towards anything for baby and made no commitments for the future.
I want him out of our lives for good, he said he will take it to court, I’m just wondering if there is any chance he would get any custody?I’m not putting his name on the birth certificate.
Thankyou in advance X

  • If your not putting his name on the birth certificate then no because there would need to be DNA test and if you dont do that then theres no proof hes the father and unless you have a past violence police record then baby would stay with you anyway especially if hes got a past xx

  • Personally I believe once they ask to abort they have relinquished any rights as a father. The only reason the child is still here is because of you. Carry on doing what you think is best. X

  • He wouldn’t get custody but would more than likely get supervised access and he can apply to be put on the birth certificate if a DNA test proves he is the father

  • You can’t play god with your child’s life. If he’s the dad he has every right to be on the birth certificate if he wants to be and can take you to court for custody and as long as he had no damaging convictions a judge would give him shared custody.

  • Don’t put his name on birth certificate. I had an ex say it twice to me and to me they don’t deserve to be on there xx
